yeesh... so I was going to update this every day, but then one thing led to another, and... well... now it's been a week between entries... *sigh* anyway, last week's malaise turned into this week's illness... I'm definitely sick now... and when you're sick, you just don't feel like doing anything... at least I don't... but I want to want to do something... which is basically to say that I don't want to be sick anymore, because then I can focus on actually being productive or some reasonable facsimilie thereof...

man did I feel like crap today... everything just hurt... and that sucks... I'd say something insightful about having no appetite or make some poignant observations about falling asleep in class... but c'mon, you all know the feeling... it sucks... especially when it's only monday and you thought you'd caught up on your sleeping over the weekend... maybe tomorrow will be better, and I'll be "with it" enough to come to some realization that's worth writing (or reading) about...

It's been awhile, hasn't it?? well I decided to start writing again, and for two reasons... one, a friend of mine was telling me about a journal he keeps... said it helped him get things off his mind and come back to those thoughts later... not that I have a whole lot on my mind right now, but the idea of chronicling what I'm doing and what I'm thinking is something that I've thought of before and has a certain appeal to me... after all, I did start writing my autobiography back when I was a sophomore in college...
anyway, I also started writing again because I'll soon be keeping an immigration law blog on
JURIST... I'll be posting a daily update on the latest in immigration law news - very much fact-based... not so much my thoughts on it or anything... so that'll be the facts... and this will be the opinion... on immigration law or anything else...
anyway, I'm back in the blogging business... and much like the first day of class, nothing much is going to get done today... tune in tomorrow for something somewhat more interesting...

I think I'd make a good criminal... partly because I'm smart, but moreso because I'm totally paranoid...

what is it about grocery stores that turn people into complete and total idiots? I mean... where do you think you'll find the eggs? find the cold part of the store and go from there... if you really can't find them, well that's pretty sad... but don't bother asking about it until you've looked...
there's also no need to park your cart right in the middle of the aisle... especially when you're next to the one display in the aisle... grocery stores are open to the public... you're not in your own private idaho...
and jelly in a squeezeable container should not be some big revelation...

winamp is the most brilliant program ever written... out of 1640+ songs in the playlist, it goes from one cover of "take on me" to another... then it goes from a stevie wonder cover right into his classic "I Wish"... how does it know so much???

I got two new ties today... it was pretty gratuitous, since I won't really have the need for additional ties until I get a job that requires them... and that won't be for at least a year and a half or so... but they're pretty sharp ties...

how exactly is it that doors break? one of the front doors to the law school is currently blocked by three big yellow strips of caution tape on both sides... it gives the appearance of a heavily fortified highly dangerous piece of equipment... and except for the caution warnings, it looks exactly like all the other doors... what could possibly have happened to this door that makes it so dangerous? does it open suddenly? not at all? now don't get me wrong... the door hasn't worked right for a long, long time... it won't open all the way, but it's not really dangerous... it opens most of the way... using it isn't something that those familiar with its failures avoid... the school ought to just fix it and let it be... but in the meantime, it's not exactly something we need to be protected against... then again, maybe the law school knows something about liability and faulty doors... hmm... still doesn't explain them not fixing the door's minor imperfection... *sigh* I'm done ranting now...

It was too cold to go outside today... I mean... it's march! time to start warming up, eh??? a high of 20 or 22 or whatever it was is NOT appropriate... stop being cold! what an excuse to procrastinate THAT was...

turftoe... what a sissy injury... at least that's what it sounds like... until you get it...
three weeks ago, when I was done playing a couple games at winter league, my left big toe was in some serious pain... and it didn't go away for a few days... playing on it the next week wasn't a good idea either, because it came back... last night - after two weeks off - I played on it again... bad idea... so now I'm noticeably gimpy for the next few days... I'll probably go into the pitt health center to see what they have to say... spring break means I have time for stuff like that...

welcome to my blog... yay, I've joined the masses posting their most random thoughts for all to read in cyberspace... or at least for one or two people to read... or maybe just for posterity... whatever... maybe what I have to say will become a cult phenomenon... probably not... maybe my "distinctive" writing style, eschewing conventional capitalization, punctuation and sentence structure in favor of predominancy of lowercase, many ellipses and such will capture your attention... here, I'm assuming there is a "you"... oh well... I'll probably start off with a few quick thoughts that I've been gathering over the last week or so to decide if I'd actually have anything to say in a blog that would make publishing worthwhile... I suppose the answer is yes... anyway, enough of this nonsense... hope you enjoy...
UPDATE: It's all a lie... technically, I started the blog in March of 2003, but I only could be bothered to make a small number of posts until September, at which point I resumed blogging on the 21st... note that any post predating September 21st, 2003 was actually made in April or March...
In case you're really curious about OMB history, I didn't alert anyone else to the blog's presence until January of 2004... since then, postings have continued to be irregular as life happened while I meant to be blogging...
